My Current Readings #16

Reading an article titled Asian Heart Disease Gene Found, by researchers. This article found on BBC NEWS online, under Health. New disease mutation gene is founded in India, heart disease. One in every twenty-five are said to have this gene. This gene increases the risk of heart disease and India is particularly being attacked at this moment. The number one killer in the entire world is heart disease, by 2010 The World Health Organization predicts India to have sixty percent of the world's heart patients. That is a scary thought. This disease causes a deterioration of one's heart muscle. Researches say that younger kids have a better chance because their body seems to be able to break down and remove the mutated protein. We need to think about those in India while this issue continues, the people there have more than half of the world's heart patients in their future and that has got to be a horrifying thought in one's own country. High hopes for Hospitals and Medical Pursuits to dig deeper into this issue and have a more positive outlook on the future. Hopefully more attention will be payed to these specific country's and help will be further provided.

My Current Readings #15

Found a local news report on Wcco.com. The article is titled Mother Arrested For Bomb Threats Toward School, written by a local reporter, not cited. This event occurred in Willow River, Minnesota. This woman was accused of making bomb threats at her daughter's school, Northern Minnesota School. This woman is 53 years of age, Lorinda Joyce Burgeson. She was arrested because of her connection with the bomb threat toward the particular school. Burgeson made the first threat on Tuesday, where the school was evacuated and then searched. Then the second threat on Wednesday, where again the school was evacuated and then checked, to find and arrest Lorinda Burgeson. She is now at Pine County Jail. What a scary thought to have an older woman making bomb threats at your school, now imagine if that woman was your mother. It is indescriable the feelings i would encounter if it were my own mom, or even relative that was making bomb threats at my school. It seems so childish and naive. It's a spooky thought to realize how many people there are in the world, of all ages that just aren't on the right train of thought, or path in their life. It is sad that this happens but maybe happens for the reason being to learn. Learn from mistakes you see be made, and your own.

My Current Readings #14

This reading section is from a book called Soul Surfer, written by Bethany Hamilton. The summary of this story is that this girl is a surfer and she has been her entire life. She lives in Hawaii and has literally grown up in the ocean waters. One day like normal Bethany is far out in the ocean surfing and she is attacked. In the book they describe this incident very vividly. It ends up that she has to get her arm amputated. She lived through the attack and that was enough to keep her determined to live and get through this tragedy. Bethany now lives with one arm and still continues to surf. It seems weird doesn't it? How can this girl have the guts to go back out there and continue surfing? I guess you could just answer that saying, she didn't want to quit what she loved. She talks about her inspiration and what are the deep down reasons she got through this. She responds with talking about her religion and the God she believes in and has for ever. She believes that God got her through this experience and now has opened her eyes to be more safe. Her religion means "everything" to her, a quote from Bethany. It's incredible to realize what people get through and the reasons why. So why let anything get in the way of what one wants to conquer? Just don't stop trying.

My Current Readings #13

Stunning news occurring daily, Kare11.com news report titled "Bus Driver Pulls Knife on Students." The story is said that the bus driver noticed his bus was full of crumbs, garbage and such. This was in Texas and the bus driver supposively pulled his pocket knife out against three kids. The kids were in sixth grade. To the bus drivers knowledge, these kids left cookie crumbs and messed up his bus. The bus driver is 66 years old and was fired since he had been put on administrative leave. To me this is more than insane. One becomes a bus driver because they enjoy being around kids, still aware that things will get out of line. This instance is completely ridiculous. No kid should ever be put in this situation, especially for a problem such as cookie crumbs being left on the school bus floor. People that are aware of self aggrivation need to take order before jumping into a job and putting anyone, students at risk. This behavior will not be tolerated anywhere. Keep the kids and people safe.

My Current Readings #12

Starting the second book of the Twilight series, New Moon, written by Stephenie Meyer. This book gets off to a slow start. Bella is content within herself and is most definitely happy. An old friend of hers and her father's comes into the picture in the beginning of this book. Jacob Black was his name, he was a bit younger than Bella and rather interested in Bella. In the previous book Jacob and his father knew about Bella and Edward and warned her as well. They told her that "they would be watching." The two remained friends, just never saw that much of each other. Personally, Jacob Black comes off as no threat so i see why Bella is so calm and herself around him, and his father for that matter. She has put behind the fact that he may be jealous of what her and Edward share and he is intently watching them. Bella gets closer with Jacob as this second book goes on. I'm excited to see when Edward comes back into the picture, wonder if he will find himself being the jealous one?

My Current Readings #11

Just sadly finished the book Twilight, by Stephenie Meyer. The main character, still Bella follows her heart throughout this entire novel. Bella finds out things she would have never believed. Edward, the man of her dreams is a vampire. and for some reason she just is not scared. She receives plenty of warning from Edward but does not want anything to do with what he is saying, as long as she can be with him. The two took many adventures upon themselves, got themselves into quite the amount of trouble. Almost took Bella's life, Edward saved her. It was final, Edward Cullen was Bella's true love. Despite all that happened with him being a vampire and her ending up in the hospital after a tragic night, Bella is still weak in the knees in love with every bit of Edward. She swears she will never let him go. She would do anything to stay with him, every second, every moment, forever. Edward surprises Bella and brings her to the school prom. Bella can not dance, and she has definitely made that clear to Edward. Edward's sister, Alice got Bella up for dressing up and getting all ready for something she wasn't yet aware of. They ended up and school and Edward didn't let Bella go. He swept her off her feet and danced with her. They shared last words of this book outside of school on a bench. The love was real and there was no fighting it. I admire Bella for sticking with her gut throughout all of the terrifying experiences she encountered when with Edward. He told her he would never let her get hurt and she trusted fully in that. I'm so glad she stuck with it because now everything is great and she is so happy. BEST BOOK EVER WRITTEN.
